What does this youth Bible quiz cover?
The 20 questions range across the whole Bible: Joseph, Gideon, David and Jonathan, Elijah, Esther and Daniel from the Old Testament, and Jesus' signs, the young man who asked Jesus what he still lacked, Paul and Silas and the early church from the New Testament. A thread runs through many of them: young people in the Bible, such as Joseph at seventeen, David the youngest son, Daniel and his friends during their ten-day test, the servant girl in Naaman's house, Jesus at twelve in the temple, Paul's nephew who uncovered a plot, and Timothy, told not to let anyone despise his youth.
The quiz starts with questions most teens know from Sunday school, moves to details that need careful reading, and ends with a few hard ones to separate the top teams.
How do you run this quiz at a youth group meeting?
Split the group into teams of three to five and put the quiz on a screen, or let each team play on one phone. Give about 20 seconds per question, then read the verse that comes with the answer before moving on; it takes the whole quiz to around 15 minutes and turns it into a short Bible reading. If your group meets without screens, print a version from the printable Bible quiz packs.
To keep it fair for newcomers, score teams rather than individuals, and let the team that answers wrong explain why their option sounded right. Distractors in this quiz are real names and details from nearby passages, so a wrong answer usually still points to a real story worth reading.
How can teens get better at Bible trivia?
Read whole stories rather than single verses. Most of these answers sit inside a few chapters, and reading the chapter around a question makes it easy to remember the details around it, like who else was present and what happened next. After this quiz, try the hard Bible trivia for a challenge, or switch to Bible games like word search and crossword for a lighter week.
