How this plan works
The schedule follows book order and balances each day by verse count, generated from the Berean Standard Bible text. Reading this fast changes what you notice: you will spot repeated promises, patterns and connections across books that are easy to miss at three chapters a day, but you will not have time to stop on every verse.
If an hour a day is too much, the one-year plan covers the same ground at about a quarter of the pace. New to the Bible? Read how to read the Bible first; it explains where to start and how to keep going.
How not to give up
- Block out the time in your calendar, ideally in two sittings (morning and evening).
- Read quickly for the story; save questions for a notebook and come back later.
- Use audio for long narrative days. At normal speed it covers the daily reading in under an hour.
- Plan for catch-up days: build in one spare day every two weeks.
- Finish strong: the last two weeks (the prophets and the New Testament) move fast.
