How to use the daily verse

Give it two minutes. Read the BSB line slowly, then the WEB line, and notice any word that differs. Read the note to see who first heard these words. Then cover the verse and answer the one-word question. Tomorrow, before you read the new verse, try to say yesterday’s from memory. That small review is what makes a verse stick, as explained in our guide to memory verses.

Frequently asked questions

How is the Bible verse of the day picked?

7 Scrolls keeps a fixed list of 366 verses, one for every calendar date including February 29. The verses come from short passages of 8 to 30 words that read as a complete thought. Your browser shows the entry for today’s date, so everyone on the same date sees the same verse.

Why is the verse shown in two translations?

The Berean Standard Bible (BSB) is our main translation and the World English Bible (WEB) sits beside it. Both are public domain. Comparing them shows where translators agree and where a word could be rendered more than one way.

Can I see the verse for another day?

Yes. The full list of all 366 dates is on this page, grouped by month. Each entry has the verse, a short note and a link to its book.

What is the best way to remember the daily verse?

Read it twice, say it aloud, then try the one-word check without looking. Come back to it the next morning before reading the new one. Short, spaced reviews work better than reading a verse many times in one sitting.

Does the verse of the day follow a reading plan?

No. It is a single verse for reflection and memory, not a plan through whole books. For reading the Bible in a year, use a reading plan alongside it.
