What does this Bible knowledge test measure?

The test checks how well you know the Bible as a whole, not one favorite book. Ten questions come from the Old Testament, covering history, prophets and wisdom books such as Joshua, Ruth, Esther, Job, Isaiah, Jeremiah and Nehemiah. Ten come from the New Testament, covering the Gospels, Acts and the letters, including Philemon, Galatians and Hebrews.

The questions get gradually harder in places: a few are well known, most need solid recall, and some ask about people readers often forget, such as Onesimus or Tabitha. A score of 15 or more out of 20 shows broad familiarity with both Testaments.

How can I use the test in a class or study group?

Use it as a before-and-after check. Have everyone take the test at the start of a study series, keep the scores private, and take it again at the end. Because each answer shows its verse, the review after the test works as a short guided reading across the whole Bible.

If your group is strong in one Testament and weak in the other, the score breakdown will show it quickly. Follow up with the Old Testament quiz or the New Testament quiz to work on the weaker side.

How do I raise my score?

Look at where your misses cluster. If they sit in the prophets, read one short prophetic book a week; if they sit in the letters, read one letter in a single sitting, since most take less than twenty minutes. Reading whole books, rather than scattered verses, is what makes names and events stick in their places.

When you score well here, the hard Bible trivia is the next step up.
