What does this quiz cover?
The questions follow the story in the order Genesis tells it. Genesis 6 covers Noah's three sons, the wood the ark was made of and its three decks. Genesis 7 covers Noah's age when the flood came and how long the rain fell. Genesis 8 covers where the ark came to rest and the birds Noah sent out of the window. Genesis 9 ends with God's covenant and the sign of the rainbow.
A few details often surprise adults: the text gives Noah's age when the flood came, and it names a raven before the dove. If you want to read the whole account first, start with the Noah's Ark story.
How can I use it with kids and adults together?
Let children answer the picture-friendly questions (the dove, the olive leaf, the rainbow) and give the number questions to older players. Reading one chapter of Genesis 6 to 9 before each pair of questions works well for a short family devotion or a Sunday school class.
Because each answer comes with its verse, the quiz doubles as a reading guide: after each question, open the verse and read the sentences around it. That keeps the focus on what the text says, not on details added in picture books.
What is a good study tip for the flood story?
Track the numbers as you read: 40 days of rain, 150 days of high water, and Noah's age at the start and the end. Genesis 7 and 8 give dates by Noah's years and months, so a simple timeline on paper makes the story much easier to remember. The profile of Noah and the Genesis summary put the flood in the wider story of the book.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the story of Noah's Ark in the Bible?
It is in Genesis 6 to 9. God tells Noah to build the ark in Genesis 6:14, the flood comes in Genesis 7, and the rainbow covenant is in Genesis 9:12-17.
How big was Noah's Ark?
God told Noah to make it 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits high (Genesis 6:15). A cubit was roughly the length of a forearm, so the ark was very large.
Did the animals go in two by two or seven by seven?
Both appear in the text. Genesis 6:19 speaks of two of every living creature, and Genesis 7:2 adds seven pairs of every kind of clean animal and a pair of every unclean animal.
How many people were on the ark?
Eight: Noah, his wife, his three sons Shem, Ham and Japheth, and the three wives of his sons (Genesis 7:13).
Is this quiz good for young children?
Yes. Most questions are easy and none dwell on frightening details. You can skip the three number questions for the youngest players.
